Multiboxing Tools for PVE and PVP

Have you ever seen a multiboxer in a battleground before? If they were half decent, you got to see how powerful someone controlling 5 characters simultaneously can be.

Great teams for PVP content are usually multiple characters of the same class.  As they are all the same class you can use their abilities in perfect unison, letting you make the most out of all their abilities, and maximizing burst damage. 5x shaman teams and 5x mage teams are great. One reason why multiboxers are so successful in battlegrounds is they are perfectly coordinated, generally focusing 1 target at a time and taking them down. While 5 well coordinated players will always be better then a multiboxer controlling  5 characters – in most battlegrounds a good multiboxer playing strategically will actually be a positive influence, rather then a negative one that many players assume them to be.

On the other hand for PVE content, you want a balanced group so you have the right balance of tanking, healing, and DPS. While things can get very complex with a team of a warrior, priest, warlock, and 2 hunters, you can keep things simple for PVE as well. A team of 5 paladins, one specced protection and the other 4 ret – can take down 5 man content easiily. This is one of the teams I’m working on.

But to manage all these characters effectively and efficiently you need some sort of multiboxing tool or software. One option is a hardware setup, with 5 computers and displays and a keyboard and mouse sending commands to all of them through an expensive KVM setup. The other is through software, like Pwnboxer. One of the reasons I like Pwnboxer so much is it’s ease of use and efficiency. Every key you hit is always properly broadcast, and mouse broadcasting is pinpoint accurate. When you’re in a frantic PVP fight and one of your guys goes down it’s 1 button press to switch characters and take control of your team again
